Partner Updates – Winter 2022
Thanks to you and other generous donors, Ubuntu Global Connections directed a total of $203,817 to our partner organizations in South Africa between September 2021 and today. This funding has had an extraordinary impact on the important work they are doing to serve and strengthen their communities. Their new and renovated buildings, and expanded programming are all a direct result of the care and support of donors here in the US. This global connection is truly making a powerful difference in the lives of so many who have so little.
We are also very excited to share that your December donations exceeded our matching challenge of $20,000! We are so grateful and have allocated the matching funds as follows:
- Axium Education: $10,000
- Zithulele Independent School: $5,000
- Jabulani Rural Health Foundation: $3,000
- Sihamba Sonke: $2,000
On behalf of Ubuntu Global Connections and our partner organizations, thank you for your support, and we look forward to continuing our connection with you this year. We hope you’ll consider contributing an item to the “Donations Wish List” we are compiling for our upcoming March trip to South Africa. We also hope you will gather your friends and join us for our second annual “Walk in Their Shoes” event…details coming soon!

From Sally Le Roux, director of Zithulele Independent School:
“Ubuntu is literally building us a school. Brick by brick. Thank you!”
From Craig Paxton, co-founder of Axium Education:
“A BIG thank you from all of us at Axium for the incredible generosity from so many of our friends in the US. We know the last two years have been very tough for everyone, and the fact that you have been able to keep young people located in such a remote corner of the world in your hearts and minds over this time is truly amazing. Thank you!”
