Our First Axium Education Trivia Invitational – A Success!
Date: October 30th, 2024
In October, friends of Ubuntu Global Connections, supporters of Axium Education, and mighty warriors of trivia came together for our first-ever Axium Education Trivia Invitational. It was an evening of music, challenging questions, and enthusiastic support for Axium Education’s programs.
The evening featured trivia, led by Master Trivia Host Tom Rutledge, seasonal refreshments, a beautiful repertoire from the BroadBand a cappella group, and updates from Craig Paxton, Axium co-founder, about Axium’s work in South Africa. We so appreciate the ongoing and growing support from all our friends in Concord and the surrounding communities.
We hosted six teams of six to eight players. Each group came to the event with a team name (The Big Wigs, The Smartinis, Blues Clues, The Potjies, The Trivial Cahoots, The Izazi Legends) and creative attire and swag to fit their team’s name. The competition was fierce but amicable.
We’d also like to give our heartfelt thanks to the following individuals and organizations who helped make this evening a success:
- Tom Rutledge, Quizmaster, led us through a fun and challenging trivia game. You can keep tabs on Tom’s trivia nights and other events by following him on Instagram @tom_rutledge_presents. Fun video clips and photos from our event will be posted soon!
- John and Johanna Boynton generously let us host the event at the Bradford Mill Wheelhouse and Susan Muller helped us create the perfect event space; and John provided philanthropic leadership in supporting Axium’s work.
- The BroadBand a cappella group entertained us with their enchanting selection of songs.
- Vanessa and Mark Bilbe generously donated all of the delicious treats.
- Sara, Kara, Asa, and Anna volunteered in a variety of ways throughout the evening.
- Colonial Spirits generously donated South African wines.
- Rapscallion Table & Tap donated two delicious, seasonal beers.
Enjoy some photos from the evening, and enkosi (thank you), from the the Axium Education Trivia Invitational US planning team.
