Partner Update: Axium Education

For several years, Axium Founder Craig Paxton and his colleague Mike Gathercole have made an October visit to Concord, MA to connect with friends who have visited and volunteered at Axium in years past. Craig and Mike especially enjoy putting their racquet skills to the test during a Paddle fundraiser. This year, we planned a Pickleball fundraiser, but had to move to an indoor chili event thanks to uncooperative weather.  It was still a fun evening, and Craig and Mike appreciated all who supported Axium through Ubuntu Global Connections.

Craig sent us the following:

“We had such a fabulous response to our visit in October that we returned home overwhelmed by the generosity and warmth with which Axium’s work has been embraced by our friends and supporters in the US. South Africa and the United States share many similarities in our struggles with issues of race, education and inequality – it is so heartening to encounter people who care deeply, not just about these issues at home, but many miles away in villages near the tip of Africa.
