The Daily Walk to School

The 2024 Walk in Their Shoes coincides with the 30th anniversary of the end of Apartheid in South Africa. Unfortunately, the children Axium Education serves are still living with the repercussions of that era’s devastating policies.

A recent article in the Daily Maverick describes in detail the lack of transportation that leaves students in Axium’s location with no choice but to walk 13 miles a day, often over dangerous terrain and through rivers, just to get to school. For many, there is no water available, and they must go to school for food. By walking and supporting Axium, you are helping to generate meaningful options for these students, and put them on a path toward a better future.
