Tsolo Church/Community Center Renovation
Date: July 5th, 2021
In 2019, just before the pandemic derailed so many plans, we sent about $5,000 to Phini Nenemba for the Church/Community Center restoration project in his hometown of Tsolo, a rural village near Mthatha.
In spite of challenges due to COVID, he completed much of the restoration of the building, which will be used as a church and community center. Amy visited the site with Phini in June 2021 and saw the work he had done to date. There are a few final touches to put on the building before it can be used. Phini raised money from the Tsolo community and Ubuntu Global Connections added a final $750 to complete the project, which he plans to do during December. Amy will be visiting again in March 2022 and is looking forward to seeing the finished project.
